City & Housing Notes

Tashkent (Mirzo Ulugbek, Yunusabad) is the main city and by far the most practical option. Samarkand and Bukhara are culturally significant but have limited infrastructure. Uzbekistan has been rapidly modernizing and opening to tourism.

Vets & Health After Arrival

Basic vet care in Tashkent with several clinics. Quality is improving as the country modernizes. Outside Tashkent, vet care is very limited. Costs are very affordable. Extreme temperatures: summers reach 40°C+, winters drop to -10°C.

Leaving Uzbekistan With Your Dog

Exit requires a health certificate from an approved vet. Processing takes 2–3 working days.

Videos & Route Walkthroughs

Use videos as lived-experience context, not as legal authority. Search for recent dog-owner route reports, airport collection walkthroughs, crate-loading examples and relocation-agent explainers, then verify every rule against the official source above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Tashkent practical for dogs?

Yes. The capital is rapidly modernizing with improving pet services. Affordable cost of living and growing international community.

Is vet care available?

Basic but adequate in Tashkent. Improving quality. Very limited outside the capital.

What about the extreme climate?

Hot summers (40°C+) and cold winters (-10°C). Indoor dogs with climate control do fine. Avoid outdoor exposure in temperature extremes.

Community Tips & Nearby Routes

Community reports are useful for practical details such as which cargo desk answers the phone, how long collection took, or whether a landlord asked for insurance. Treat them as tips, then verify rules with the authority and airline.
